The Weakness

2 ThrillsJake is away from the Animorphs at a family wedding he has to attend and he leaves Rachel in charge of the group. Tobias has found out where Visser Three goes to feed and the Animorphs decide to find out about it. The group decides to morph cheetahs and run him over. Once they are cheetahs they begin to feel like cheetahs - enjoying the ability to run and run, the thrill of the hunt, and the ability to chase down their enemy. One thing becomes clear during the course of the story - Rachel is not equipped to lead the group. She is too impulsive, angry, and reckless to be an effective leader. While the group fumbles around with no leadership, and Marco and Rachel argue everything, the Yeerks have begun infesting a fast new race, the Garatrons. This creates a problem, because although the group can morph cheetahs Garatrons are faster than cheetahs! One thing the entire group learns from the experience is that being in charge isn't just about the glory, but rather about making the big decisions. Who will ultimately lead in Jake's absence? Will the Animorphs be able to stop the Yeerks from infesting the Garatrons? Read The Weakness to find out!

The Arrival

4 ThrillsFour more Andalites, Ax's people, have come to Earth. They want Ax to come back and join them again. The Animorphs think that with the Andalites on Earth they will have help and can finally defeat the Yeerks for once and for all. One problem - Ax is not sure what to do. Should he join his own people or stay with the Animorphs? What he, and the Animorphs, don't know is that the other Andalites are on a secret mission to destroy Visser Three and are not concerned with the Yeerks and their battle with the Animorphs. Tension and other factors cause the Animorphs to start to come apart as a group, making it more difficult for Ax to leave them. Add in the fact that his own kind, the Andalites, are not acting very well and indeed are spies and it becomes even harder for Ax to decide who to stay with. Another problem that pops up is that the Andalites intend to use germ warfare to destroy Visser Three, which means that humans will be destroyed as well. But the Andalites have little care for the humans, and intend to stop Visser Three at any cost. Ax chooses his side and he picks the Animorphs and the human race. He stops the Andalites before they destroy the Earth and its inhabitants, but for how long? Will Ax be able to stand up to his own kind for very long or will he decide to help them? Can the Animorphs do anything to stop the possible destruction of the human race? Read The Arrival to find out!

The Hidden

2 ThrillsThe Yeerks have found a Helmacron ship and have figured out how to repair it. On board the ship, they discovered the Helmacron's morph-tracking device, which could be used to locate the Animorphs, and even worse, the morphing cube. The Animorphs have to stop the Yeerks from finding it, because they would be even more dangerous with it. The only to keep the Yeerks from getting it is to keep it moving from place to place. Cassie ends up on a truck with an African Cape Buffalo in order to get its DNA. She acquires it and morphs the buffalo. In the process, the buffalo knocks over the morphing cube. Later the buffalo morphs Chapman and the Animorphs realize it has gotten the power to morph. Given how much trouble the Animorphs have had dealing with some of their morphs, it is no wonder the buffalo has a hard time dealing with being human! Sadly, the Yeerks kill the buffalo and it never gets to truly adapt to being human. But it doesn't stop there - an ant acquires Cassie and she nearly dies from it while it is morphed. She kills the ant to avoid any future troubles with it. However, the trouble with the Yeerks and their new technology cannot be stopped so easily. Can the Animorphs keep the cube safe? Can they stay safe themselves? Read The Hidden to find out!
